People get tattoos for many reasons, and the majority of the time they’re happy with the outcome, but sometimes tattoos can turn into a burden, making you feel the need to cover them up or hide them away.
While there are many methods of covering up a tattoo, i.e with clothes or concealer etc. Laser tattoo removal is pretty much the only way of permanently getting rid of a tattoo.
The reason tattoos are hard to remove is because when the tattoo ink is injected into the skin; the pigment then becomes encapsulated in a band of collagen. This then becomes too large to be removed by normal body defence mechanisms, which means removal can’t be done by the body itself.
Laser removal treatment works by generating a high powered beam of laser light in an extremely short pulse, which is absorbed by the tattoo ink particles, breaking them down into smaller pieces enabling your natural immune defences to disperse the ink. A gradual fading of the tattoo occurs over a series of treatments.
The amount of treatment each person needs will depends on:
- Tattoo Size
- Tattoo Colour
- Tattoo area
