Scar Removal

How Does Scar Removal Work?

Although almost everyone has scarring to some extent. Sometimes, they can really impact a person's self-self-conifdence, especially if the scar is large and obvious. At Laserlife we offer two methods of reducing the appearance of scarring, Fractional Resurfacing and DermaRoller.

How do they Work?

Fractional Resurface

Fractional laser skin resurfacing (ablative) provides total rejuvenation to give the skin a smooth, youthful and glowing appearance.
Lynton's 20 years of research, development and expertise in aesthetic technology has now resulted in our newest revolution in skin rejuvenation; Resurface.
Our YAG laser targets minute sections of the skin with laser light, which penetrate into the tissue, causing small columns of thermal damage to stimulate significant collagen renewal. The skin looks tighter due to immediate collagen shrinkage, and is followed by long-term stimulation of fibroblasts which will produce new collagen over the following months. The surrounding, non-affected areas of skin facilitate faster healing; aiding the body’s natural recovery process, giving dramatic results without the significant down-time associated with traditional ablative laser procedures.
Fractional laser skin resurfacing provides total rejuvenation to smooth out scars.

Skin Needling is the latest skin renewal technique to renew the skin’s surface at a fraction of the cost and with minimal downtime compared with other procedures. Skin Needling can provide excellent results but is much less invasive and does not require the removal of the epidermis. As a result the healing time is significantly shorter and there is no post-treatment skin sensitivity to UV light. The titanium dermaroller is a convenient multipurpose device used for the treatment of various skin conditions such as scarring, stretch marks and cellulite. Skin Needling is also one of the few skin therapies that are suitable for treating all skin types, including ethnic skin, and which can be used to treat even sensitive areas. The concept of Skin Needling (also known as Collagen Induction Therapy) is based on the skin’s natural ability to repair itself whenever it encounters physical damage such as cuts, burns and other abrasions. Immediately after an injury occurs to the skin our body reuses the damaged collagen and elastin fibres as well as other damaged skin components to produce new ones..

Which treatment is better for me?

The treatment you have can be determined during one of our consultations, unless you have preference to one treatment. Each treatment course is personalised to your needs, goals and skin condition. To find out more about each treatment, read more at DermaRoller or Fractional Resurface.

Do I Require A Consultation?

Yes, an initial consultation is carried out to assess your skin condition and to recommend an appropriate treatment for you. A small patch test will be carried out for Fractional Resurfacing treatment.

How Quickly Does it Work?

A course of 3 sessions, at 6-8 week intervals, is usually recommended to achieve optimum results.
Visible signs of skin rejuvenation may be seen after just 6-8 weeks following procedure but may take between 2-6 months to see full results. Results will often improve for up to one year after the treatment course.

Fractional Resurfacing

Improvement is evident after the first session, but for optimum results 3 to 6 treatment sessions are advised. Treatment is carried out every 2 to 6 weeks, depending upon the level of rejuvenation required. Typically at each session the entire face (or hands, neck or décolleté) is treated. This leads to a far more consistent result than limiting treatment to an isolated areas.
