Permanent Hair Removal

Laser Hair Removal has been the saving grace to spending hours and hours waxing, shaving, plucking and generally having a painful experience more times than you’re willing to put up with. However if you see something advertising ‘ Permanent Hair Removal ‘ please note that Laser hair removal is long lasting, but will need a top up eventually.

What is Laser Hair Removal?

Laser hair removal offers a long term and often permanent answer. Waxing treatments and shavers can be an expensive ongoing cost with Laser Hair Removal now being more affordable than you realise. It uses sharp lights that gets down into the hairs colour pigment and kills it from the root. All skin tones can be treated with Laser Hair Removal and your Therapist from Laser Life Clinic will adjust the laser to suit your hair and skin type. Also, the laser will bypass the skins natural melanin which will avoid burns.

Is it right for me?

If you’re thinking permanent hair removal, then no as it’s you will need a 10 up eventually, although this is a easy treatment and quick to top up.

For laser hair removal your Therapist will always require you to have a patch test and a consultation before any treatments can be booked. This not only allows your therapist to select the right laser for your skin type, but it also give you the chance to see if your hair and skin reacts positively. Essentially, the darker your hair is the better. This is because the laser can pick up the hairs pigments better, so it is not suitable for those with grey, blonde or light red hair.

Is it painful?

This is one of the most common questions asked about Laser Hair Removal. Really, it’s more painful than shaving, but less painful than waxing. It is virtually pain free with only a slight feeling of warmth with a sense of an elastic band flicking your skin. It honestly not as painful as it sounds.

How many treatments are needed?

Only hair that is actively growing is affected during each session, so multiple treatments will be necessary. There is a long gap in between treatments, ranging from 4-8 weeks depending on the area. Courses are typically 6 sessions to achieve the optimum results.
