Laser Scar Removal

Laser Scar removal can be required for many reason and on various areas of the body. Common scar removal is often for:

  • Acne Scarring
  • Stretch mark removal
  • Surgical scar
  • Previous injury scars

Laser Scar removal can be performed on all of the above, and results can be seen rather quickly compared to other treatments.

The method of removing scars can be done by one of two ways, firstly.

Dermaroller

Skin Needling (also known as Dermaroller) is the latest skin renewal technique to renew the skin’s surface at a fraction of the cost and with minimal downtime compared with other procedures such as Laser Resurfacing, Fraxel® and Chemical Peels.
Skin Needling can provide excellent results but is much less invasive and does not require the removal of the epidermis. As a result the healing time is significantly shorter and there is no post-treatment skin sensitivity to UV light.
The titanium dermaroller is a convenient multipurpose device used for the treatment of various skin conditions such as scarring, stretch marks and cellulite.
Skin Needling is also one of the few skin therapies that are suitable for treating all skin types, including ethnic skin, and which can be used to treat even sensitive areas.
The concept of Skin Needling (also known as Collagen Induction Therapy) is based on the skin’s natural ability to repair itself whenever it encounters physical damage such as cuts, burns and other abrasions. Immediately after an injury occurs to the skin our body reuses the damaged collagen and elastin fibres as well as other damaged skin components to produce new ones. Skin Needling allows for controlled induction of the skin’s self repair mechanism by creating micro-‘injuries’ in the skin which trigger new collagen synthesis, yet does not pose the risk of permanent scarring. The result is smoother, firmer and softer looking skin.

Fractional Resurfacing

Fractional laser skin resurfacing (ablative) provides total rejuvenation to give the skin a smooth, youthful and glowing appearance.
Lynton’s 20 years of research, development and expertise in aesthetic technology has now resulted in our newest revolution in skin rejuvenation; ResurFACE.
Fractional Er:YAG laser targets minute sections of the skin with laser light, which penetrate into the tissue, causing small columns of thermal damage to stimulate significant collagen renewal. The skin looks tighter due to immediate collagen shrinkage, and is followed by long-term stimulation of fibroblasts which will produce new collagen over the following months. The surrounding, non-affected areas of skin facilitate faster healing; aiding the body’s natural recovery process, giving dramatic results without the significant down-time associated with traditional ablative laser procedures.
Fractional laser skin resurfacing provides total rejuvenation to give the skin a smooth, youthful and glowing appearance. It is particularly suitable for Scarring.
