Hirsutism Hair Removal Treatment

Hirsutism hair removal treatment:

What is Hirsutism

Hirsutism is a condition where a person gets excessive hair growth in certain parts of the body. Although it is rarely mentioned, it is actually a very common problem amongst women. The look of hair is usually dark and thick rather than fine and fair. It develops in areas where men often have hair, such as the face, neck, chest, tummy, lower back and thighs, which is why so many women find the condition embarrassing and distressing to live with. Other symptoms include a lower toned voice, irregular or no periods and oily and acne prone skin.

What Causes Hirsutism?

Hirsutism is caused by an excess of male hormones called Androgens in the body, or by the body being more sensitive to these hormones. In many cases, it isn’t very clear what causes Hirsutism. Some women just seem to develop extra hair growth as they get older, especially after the menopause.

Is there a Hirsutism hair removal treatment?

More often than not Hirsutism treatment usually involves techniques to remove the excess hair and treatment to help slow down its growth or to prevent it coming back. Main treatments include waxing, prescriptive cream and oral tablets from the GP.

Another form of treatment is Laser Hair Removal. This is a treatment that uses an intense, pulsating beam of light that removes unwanted hair on the body. It works by converting the lasers light into heat as it passes through the skin. This heat is absorbed by the hairs dark pigment in the follicle, in turn damaging the follicle to inhibit hair loss.

Laser hair removal for hirsutism is the most effective treatment, with long-lasting results. Although laser is not 100% permanent, you will however, notice your hair becomes a lot thinner and finer after 12 sessions 4 to 6 weeks apart. Look for a laser technician that uses laser rather than IPL as lasers are much stronger and so results last longer.

At LaserLife, we offer all women with Hirsutism 50% off hair removal, this is an offer that is constantly available to the community.
