What is fat freezing?
Fat freezing has many names, such as cryolipolysis, Lipo freeze and coolsculpting, but whatever their name, they all work using the same cooling method.
Fat freezing does exactly what the name says, it freezes fat. this non-invasive, pain free alternative to liposuction, is almost too good to be true, but does it really work?
The method of removing fat by freezing it was discovered by Physicians Dieter Manstein and R. Rox Anderson at The Wellman Center at Massachusetts General Hospital in 2008, but it’s only recently soared to popularity.
The two physicians realized that when the body is exposed to cold, the body’s usual response is to restrict circulation to keep the core of the body at the correct temperature. But when layers are fat are cooled below body temperature but above freezing, it results in localized cell death followed by a local inflammatory response. This then leads to your body naturally disposing of the fat and a gradual reduction of the fat in the treatment area.
With fat freezing, it’s recommended to have more than one treatment to remove stubborn fat, however soon after the discovery of fat freezing, clinical trials showed 81% of people saw a the results within the first week.
