Acne Scar Treatment

Not all scars are created equal and is generally a sign that your skin has had to work too hard to repair itself.

Generally, acne scar treatment will depend on the type of scarring, this falls into two categories: those caused by a loss of tissue (atrophic), and those caused by an excess of tissue (hypertrophic). Within these categories, acne scars fall into one of four types: ice pick, boxcar, rolling and keloid scars.

Acne scars can be frustrating after effects of an acne breakout.

Discolorations are not true scars but rather post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, which will fade over time. This is the skin’s natural response to inflammation and presents itself as a flat area of discoloration on the skin ranging from pink to red, purple, brown or black, depending on your skin tone and depth of the discoloration. Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation develops when a wound, rash, pimple, or other stimuli cause skin inflammation, which triggers the skin to produce too much melanin.

 Acne scar treatment

We offer a wide range of acne scar treatment ‘s but they all work towards the same goal of removing the external layers of the scar tissue cells, leaving the scar either heavily faded or  in some cases completely removed.

SKIN PEELS

Skin peels and chemical peels use materials designed to force the body to shed the surface cells. Which can result is the skin appearing brighter and smoother

FRACTIONAL RESURFACE TREATMENT

Fractional laser treatment works by targeting both the epidermis and dermis.  It does this by delivering a laser beam that is divided into thousands of tiny but deep columns of microscopic beams into the skin. These produce inflammation and heat in the epidermis.  The heat then spreads into the dermis and stimulates our collagen. This initialises a wound healing response. As the skin heals itself from the wound, tissue and collagen stimulation will occur helping to improve the skins texture, wrinkles scarring or stretch mark.

MICRONEEDLING – Pureroller/ Dermaroller

Microneedling involves multiple tiny needles puncturing the skin to stimulate the body’s natural healing process, promoting renewed skin cells and enhanced with our Dermaquest advance Stem cells therapy to promote tissue regeneration .

The best treatment for you will depend on the extent of the scarring, the desired results, and your skin type.  In some cases, combining multiple treatments may have the best effect.
